FAQ
- 1. What is Flower Drying Crystals?
Flower Drying Crystals contains Silica Gel beads which is a dry solid, not a slick or wet substance as the name might suggest. Inside the Flower Drying Crystals bag are beads of this dry solid material that remain dry to the touch even when fully saturated. The Silica Gel beads absorb moisture to preserve (dry out) your flowers.
The Silica Gel, made from sodium silicate, is a highly porous substance that can absorb up to 40% of its own weight, which makes this the highest absorption capacity of any commercially used Desiccant. The Flower Drying Crystals can be reused by reactivating the Silica Gel contents (instructions found on back of bag). - 2. Why Use Flower Drying Crystals?
Flower Drying Crystals are the preserving choice of many professionals. The Flower Drying Crystals provide a simple, dependable, and economical solution for drying and preserving your flowers. Compared to air drying (or any other drying method) Flower Drying Crystals work more quickly and sustain the original color better then other methods.
- 3. Why are some crystals Orange?
Contained in the bag of Flower Drying Crystals are non-indicating white beads of Silica Gel and indicating orange beads of Silica Gel. Once these orange indicating beads turn dark green in color you can reactivate them for reuse (instructions on back of bag).
